As you might tell from the site, I have several various interests.  You probably figured out by now that aviation is one of them.  I earned my private pilot license at Wings Field in November 2009.  I joined into an owner partnership a few months later and was a 1/3 owner of a great little '62 Piper Cherokee.  During the summer of 2010 I earned my instrument rating with the Cherokee.  In Feb 2011 we upgraded to an '81 Piper Archer you see in the picture above.  That was taken May 2011 at Dubois Regional Airport after one of our day trips.

All play and no work makes for boring hobbies.  Now before you go saying since I have an airplane I must be rich, let me point you in the right direction.  The plane pictured here costs about as much as a newer 30' powerboat and costs less to operate.  Anyhow, I've had a few jobs.  Out of school I went into a machine shop for about 8 years.  Since I had gone to tech school for machine shop, that was the likely path.  I was hired to Peco, the local electric company, in 1990 and work as a power plant operator for 10 years at Eddystone Station.  Operators are the ones who run the pumps, boilers, and generators.  I worked my way up to Chief Operator before a separation package was announced that was just too sweet to pass up.  I worked rotating shift and would have been on that forever.  Shift work is one of those things you either love or hate.  I just could not get used to it so the opportunity to get out was good.  From there I did computer consulting for small businesses.  It worked out ok but didn't build like I hoped so I accepted a consulting spot for the city of Philadelphia where I have been since 2005.  My responsibilities involve managing about 200 Microsoft servers and several other systems.
